About Us
Building on the Peninsula, One Careful Project at a Time
Makan Builders is a licensed general contractor building custom homes, whole-home remodels, and additions across the SF Bay Area – Peninsula. We work with homeowners in Mountain View, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Palo Alto, East Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Atherton, Portola Valley, Woodside, Redwood City, San Carlos, Belmont, San Mateo, Foster City, and Hillsborough who want a contractor that treats their home like it matters, because it's usually their biggest investment and the place their family actually lives.
We keep our project list intentionally small. That means the person who walks your site during the estimate is the same person managing your project through final walkthrough, weekly updates that actually mean something, and a change-order process that never leaves you guessing what something will cost before it happens.
Every project we take on is fully licensed, bonded, and insured, and we're happy to walk you through our insurance and licensing before you sign anything.

Who's Behind Makan Builders
Pritesh Patel
Founder
Pritesh's background is in tech, and he's called the Bay Area home for the past 20 years, where he lives with his wife and two daughters. Along the way, he went through multiple construction projects of his own, both commercial and residential, as a customer, and kept running into the same gap: contractors who could do so much more to educate their customers, manage cost and schedule proactively, and use technology to make the whole process easier. So he teamed up with his longtime friend Lee to build the kind of construction company he wished he'd hired.
Lee
Co-Founder
Lee brings 35 years of construction experience across both residential and commercial projects. His attention to detail is unmatched, and he takes a pragmatic, no-nonsense approach to building. His biggest strength is his commitment, he never misses a timeline, and he works closely with every customer to bring their project to life within their budget. Lee is a long-time Bay Area resident who lives in the area with his wife and three kids, and has taken on construction projects of all sizes, from small remodels to multi-family units.
